• For spreadsheets, the quality is almost identical. Cannot speak to other types of input.

• No. The quality of a VGA input is not affected by the fact that the source was HDMI.

• You will lose some picture quality but HDMI output to VGA input is better then VGA output to VGA input. There are other factors that can change results to such as quality of converter and quality of screen. Short answer, yes it does but not really noticeable.
