As i understand it these connectors only go one way so if its meant to convert vga to hdmi it wont convert hdmi to vga i know seems strange but i had same issue and got help from associate he explained the diffrence and it seemed to work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use this connector to connect my projector to the VGA adapter and then the the HDMI adapter to the HDMI slot on my new laptop. My new Dell laptop did not have a VGA connector. It works just fine.
