“If I were to connect my ps4 to a monitor with this will the sound be transmitted as well? or only the video”

• Sound does not transmit through the VGA connector. You will need to get to the sound by using a headset connected to the PS4 controller

• I'm not familiar with PS4 outputs but if you are going HMDI from PS4 to the monitor then you will get no sound unless your monitor has speakers built in. If you are going VGA from the PS4 to an HDMI monitor input then you will get no sound because VGA doesn't send via audio via VGA.
