• It's an antenna with a coaxial connection, which is pretty common. If your portable TV has screw terminals (do any have them anymore?), you'll need a 75 to 300 ohm adaptor. But, I doubt that's necessary.

• if it has the right 75 ohm connector but a paperclip chain will also work just as good
