This for under 30 - 40 miles. Amplified would actually not help. This is a good close range antenna with out the complications of plugging in the wall. I have burned many amps forgetting that I was moving an amp tv antenna. Don't iuse a amp tv antenna if your not past 30 miles. Really try not to use a amp at all.

So I personally don’t see the advantage of the amplified. This is a rural location nowhere near metro channels. What we receive are small local stations as the major networks are at least 50 miles away. Hope this helps
