I bought a size small, and I am an adult woman who typically wears a small glove. They are not warm, nor would I recommend playing in the snow with them. They are battery operated, and the batter/wiring is not waterproof. They are not functional as gloves, per se. They are idea for night walking/running if it's cool out for safety. Regardless of that, grand kids love things that light up and these are fun! Don't forget the extra batteries... if you buy in the store, chances are that some kid has already had a good time with them. I bought with no regrets.
