“After connecting the tray with my old drive installed, a request block comes up that says "BitLockerEnter the 48 digit recovery key to unlock this drive (Key ID:xxxxxxx) " What does that mean and where do I obtain that key for the old drive?? Thank you.”

This is Windows BitLocker and is not related to the enclosure. It indicates that the drive was previously encrypted with BitLocker. To unlock it, you will need the BitLocker recovery key, which can be retrieved from your Microsoft account. Alternatively, you can reinstall the drive into its original system and retrieve the recovery key from that workstation.
