• That mostly depends on where you plug the device into if its not a USB 3.0 port you may experience slowed transfer speeds. If your USB C port has SS on it you should be fine.

• Most likely not. USB is single lane. The M.2 NVMe interface on the system board is usually 4 lane. It also depends on the capabilities (speed) of the USB port you plug it into. It will make a very fast external drive though.
