• No I had a heat sink on an extra drive and it will not work with that

• yeah, there are maybe 3-5 cm of space between the SSD and the top, but the WD SN850X is much too big, pretty sure it's bigger than the enclosure itself

• There is only room for a bare drive and the included thermal pad. Looking at pictures of the SN850X heatsink, it doesn't seem like it will fit. The drive holder is plastic, but the outer case is aluminum and should provide some heat management.

• Unless the heat sink is very low, I don't think the enclosure has enough room. Not familiar with the WD SN850X,
