Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Are you using a new VGA cable? Is the VGA cable a recommended length? I have had trouble in the past with old cables that have been worn and with a cable that was over 20'. You can always troubleshoot with a short cable connected to a monitor or TV screen (with a VGA port) to see if it works in that scenario. If still not working, your thunderbolt connection may have an error. The next troubleshooting step would be a second adapter to see if the error is in the adapter or the thunderbolt (mini display port) connector.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Try holding down the "option" key in your display panel and see if you'll get a "detect" button to appear. That button forces the Mac to go looking for connections. Hopefully you tried connecting from a shut-down Mac first.
