Using the optical to RCA feature I have to slide the switch on the unit back and forth to get the sound to work. Then it happens again the next time I use it. I returned the first one because it was doing the same thing. Is the switch defective on these? null

I have had no problem with my cable, could be a defective product.

either you got two malfunctioning splitters (which seems pretty rare), or maybe you aren't pushing the slide all the way? I've only had to do that once when I first set it up.
