“Using the optical to RCA feature I have to slide the switch on the unit back and forth to get the sound to work. Then it happens again the next time I use it. I returned the first one because it was doing the same thing. Is the switch defective on these?”

I have had no problem with my cable, could be a defective product.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.either you got two malfunctioning splitters (which seems pretty rare), or maybe you aren't pushing the slide all the way? I've only had to do that once when I first set it up.
