This unit will not accept 5.1, it only accepts PCM input. PCM is converted to 2 channel stereo only. There is no surround info.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Most likely it will convert to stereo since stereo is 2 channel. Not sure what you're using this for but also you're going to lose a little just by converting digital to analog. Nothing will be lost going from analog to digital and will remain the same. Most likely you won't notice a difference. 5.1 is for surround sound which you won't get with stereo but you should be good.
