• If you have a cable box - or any box from the provider - plug the unit into the box. I was told that was better

• You will have to make sure you are connecting the red/white cables or the single 3.5mm headphone cable to an audio output on your source device. This unit does not have any digital inputs so the optical cable will not work. Also make sure the headset and base get solid blue lights when they are turned on to know they are pairing to each other.
