• Fortunately mine has not fallen off the shelf yet. It does vibrate at higher volumns and I have placed it on a towel to prevent it from falling.

• the rubber house says shock and water resistant. An iphone is shock proof to a point, then it will break. This speaker is pretty rugged but I don't know what you're planning on doing with this.

• I would say it's shock resistant. My toddler has dropped it from 2-3' and it hasn't affected the unit negatively at all. The rubberized exterior provides some padding, which I'm sure helps.
