Do you need batteries or can it b plug in wall socket null

The way it comes, you need batteries. You can use a AC DC cord to plug into wall socket, which I had, but is sold separately and I had exterior portable speakers for external volume or you can use the ear plugs which are included. It is old school, which I am. This player is actually made to play Cd's using batteries and ear plugs, if you want to use it the way I do, you will need to purchase the AC Adapter and a small portable speaker of which both can be plugged into the CD player.
