Try MICRO USB PHONE POWER
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Believe that the manual calls for an adapter with a 4.5 V DC output -- the same as a ~20 year-old player that I have. A 5.0 V output will probably work also, just will be a little more wasted power (heat) internally. It is likely that there is some internal circuitry (regulator circuit) that brings this voltage down to around a clean 3.0 V DC internally. Batteries work directly at 3.0 V since they are already a 'clean' 3.0 V DC power source. Since cig. lighters operate at the typical battery voltage of ~12 V, if one is out there that works it would have to convert the voltage to 4.5 - 5.0 V output, before it could be used safely with the unit, and of course would need to have the correct physically sized output plug.
