You have to read your car manual to see what kind if input jacks you have. You might also have to buy a cable to connect the player to the car's sound system for optimum sound quality. We bought this to use in our Mazda CX5 and bought a cable to connect them. I believe you can connect through the USB port but the sound will not be as good. I don't remember the extra cable type but I'm sure they sell them at Best Buy or Amazon or something.

If you are asking whether you can play it through your car's speakers, you would need to check your owner's manual to see whether your car audio system has an AUX input jack. You could then use a 3.5mm patch cord to connect the player to your car audio system. A quick search online suggests that your Optima does have an AUX input jack. Your car manual will tell you where it is located.
