• This Insignia portable CD player requires 4.5 volts so I would not recommend using that charger.

• I don't understand how it could require 5 volts power. The specs call for 2 AA batteries. That produces only 3 volt (1.5V each). I don't know if the circuitry could tolerate 5V.
