It is not only FM but, AM as well!

Yes. You can switch it from FM Stereo to FM Mono. I have to use it in Mono mode because I am so far from the station that I listen to that the signal is very weak in Stereo mode. If you are fairly close to the stations the Stereo mode should work just fine.
