I've dropped my phone several times and no damage. The phone fell straight to the ground and I only mention this because if the screen hit the edge of a counter or something else that was hard, it's possible the screen could get damaged. There is a lip on the case that prevents the screen from hitting the ground when there are no obstructions on the way down. The case is very simple to put on and take off, but it is secure once it's on the phone.

This case like others can develop scratches but they don’t show on my white phone, My daughter dropped her phone and the case as well as her phone survived just fine. I also find it pretty easy on and off. I like to keep my phone clean as well as the case so I take it off and wipe things down once a week.

I had this cover on my iPhone 7 for several years and had no problem. I dropped it many times and never had any damage. The only reason I took it off was to clean the accumulation of debris that accumulated. I don’t know why it is important to take it off.

To answer some of your questions, The case is easy to put on, but not so easy to take off (not too difficult) due to the nature of its design, which is to keep your phone intact in case of a fall/ drop in order to protect it from breaking. The case is easy to grip/hold, so, unfortunately, I cannot speak of scratches (fortunate for the phone) since it has not fallen from my hands in the time I've used this case, but has fallen from car dashboard and to date no scratches yet. This case is a little too easy to put on and off, it easily peels away at the sides so that debris/dust can get to the back of the phone. After a period of 6-8 months you will notice a yellow discoloration on the sides of the case, even if you clean it regularly. It will very quickly accumulate scratches on the backside from just setting it down on the table, running your fingernails against it when reaching into your pockets, but, even if you buy a $50-$120 clear case it will still get scratches on the back very fast. The phone will be protected, but you will see scratches. If you drop the phone from a height of 4-5 feet it will most likely damage the phone. This is a very cheap case, recommended only if you need something to cover the phone right away and haven’t got the money for something more expensive. I personally own this case and have bought past versions of it as I didn’t have the money for more expensive cases. You get what you pay for, but this is a good backup case to have for the beginning.
