Make sure the cables from the vcr to this adapter are going to the right inputs. Also set the resolution to 1080P if your tv is full resolution or 720P if it isn't. If that's all OK, you may want to verify that the vcr tape you're looking at is not the problem. No other suggestions.

When using our Insignia™ RCA to HDMI Converter to connect a VCR to a Smart TV, the lack of video and intermittent audio could stem from a few common issues. First, please ensure that the RCA cables (red, yellow, white) from your VCR are securely plugged into the correct color-coded input jacks on the converter. Similarly, make sure the HDMI cable is firmly connected between the converter's HDMI output and an HDMI input on your Smart TV. Next, verify that you have selected the correct HDMI input on your TV that corresponds to the port where you plugged in the converter. You might need to cycle through the input options on your TV remote. If the problem persists, try testing the converter with a different RCA source if available, or try a different HDMI cable to rule out cable issues. If these basic troubleshooting steps do not resolve the video and audio problems, please contact our Insignia customer support team (877-467-4289) for further assistance. They can provide more in-depth troubleshooting and explore other potential solutions. - Mae | Insignia Support
