• This player will play WMV, AVI, MP4 and MPEG media files and JPG, JPEG and PNG photos from a USB flash drive. Some file encodings are not supported however; details can be found in the owner's manual, downloadable at http://www.insigniaproducts.com/products/blu-ray-dvd-players-recorders/NS-BRDVD4.html under the Support/Downloads tab.

• No, the USB port can only be used to update the firmware or use as a storage device for things downloaded from BD LIve
