A:AnswerI had an similar issue. Mine ended up being a low battery and the remote not being totally snapped together. Sounds ridiculous but with the battery change and making sure the remote cover is completely closed it worked.
A:AnswerIt worked fine for my Samsung Model Number LN40B540PBF. I didn't even need to program the remote. It worked just like my original remote but much better as the factory remote wasn't working well for volume control which prompted the purchase of the new replacement remote. We've had the TV since 09.28.09.
