There is a sticker that comes with it with a website that will find which tip you need for a specific model of laptop. The first tip you order is free (including free shipping), whether it came in the package and you need a replacement or if it's one that doesn't come with it.

Each charger comes with 6 adapters and a booklet which lists the models they are compatible with.

If you are lucky they will help you but I got mean head games instead of a tip when I called. Just order the right replacement, if your tip isn't included, and spare yourself the degradation.
