Insignia™ - Slim Universal AC Power Adapter - Black

I'm sure this charger is fine for lighter notebooks or chrome books but not full fledged notebooks. BestBuy obviously chooses to omit this information anywhere on the site so you get suckered into buying it. My Dell Inspiron 15 5000 is compatible with it yes, but does not charge properly as it recommends 130 Watts. This is like taking a modern phone and charging it with a 1AMP charger, it'll do the job but will take 3x - 4x longer and on top of that, your OS may throttle performance while using the charger. Steer clear if you're needing to power a full fledged laptop.

This works fine for my older computer but it does not have the adapter for my newer computer - Spectre x360 2-in-1 13.3" 4K Ultra HD Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - It is a small flat adapter which is not provided

I frequently travel and at times work from home. Every two years the company I work for switches our department laptops, so I bought a charger I can use with any manufacturer. The weight is perfect as I leave this charger in my backpack and travel with it. The chargers that come with our laptops are bulkier and heavier, so I leave one at home and another in my workstation at work. This one is perfect.

You know why you're here: you're away from home, laptop in your bag, and suddenly you realize that you left your charger behind. Maybe, like me a few weeks ago, you have an all-day meeting starting tomorrow morning and your battery's barely good for an hour and a half. But what are the specs of your socket???!!! How can you possibly find a compatible adapter???!!! I'm here to tell you that Insignia's universal adapter appears to live up to its name - one of its plugs works perfectly on my Acer E5-575G, another one fits an older HP Envy 15 in my office, and a third one fits an ancient Dell Inspiron I found buried on a shelf. And there's three more I haven't even tried! If you poke around online you can find the manufacturer's list of compatible laptops, but just be aware that it isn't comprehensive: my Acer wasn't listed, but it works fine - it's plugged in right now, in fact. It's not perfect - it has an oddly short cord between the transformer thingie and your laptop, so depending on the placement of the wall outlet, the transformer might be hanging off the edge of your desk. And it's not cheap. If you hunt around online you might find similar items for less money - but those sellers aren't going to deliver to your hotel tonight, and the local Best Buy is open late!

I bought this charger to replace a charger that I forgot at a hotel I have a toshiba laptop and it definitely was compatible and charged it but it was not a snug fit. This is the laptop I purchased it but I was also able to use it for my gateway and it was a much better fit. I like the multiple tips so it can be utilized for many different brands

The concept is great and if it had fit my computer, it would have been perfect. But unfortunately. my computer has a weird charger, so this didn't fit it. But if you have a normal charger and need a new one, I know other people this has worked out for!

I bought one of these about 3 years ago and just replaced it with the same "Slim" model because it's the best value at Best Buy for a replacement power cord. Coincidently, my wife bought one for her computer about a month ago. The guide for choosing the right tip is helpful. This being the "Slim" model, it's more compact than the bulkier model but worth the price to me for portability in my crowded backpack. One thing I wish is that it was even smaller. There ARE smaller OEM laptop chargers. One improvement over the one purchased 3 years ago is the hard connection of the plug cord. The last version was a plug-in at the box, a design I never understood. Overall a good product.

This saved me!! I forgot my work laptop charging cord at work in CA and I was in IL, this was great and now I don't have to worry about carrying charging cords with me any more. Works on my personal computer with the adapters so I just keep it plugged in for use.
