Have you installed the driver that comes with it? If you have and are still having problems, try going to System Preferences > Security & Privacy and it may say at the bottom if you want to trust what you just installed (ie. the driver). I had the same problem and went crazy for days trying to fix only to realize it just wanted a confirmation. Hopefully that helps :)
