“The USB ports (2) on the converter seem small. I tried my iPhone usb cable and it’s too large. i’ve read the instructions very carefully and it doesn’t seem to talk about the size of the USB connections .What am missing here?”

There aren't any usb ports. There is a plug outlet in the converter to plug various electronics into.You would plug your phone adapter into this outlet on the converter itself if needed. Check to see if your phone will work on more than one current. A lot of devices switch currents automatically You may only need a different plug adapter and not a converter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The converter worked well on my trip to Germany except that the small plug that fits onto the adapter to plug it intends to stay in the socket and I lost one before I figured this out.
