My comment to "blessed" ... maybe you used just the adapter, not the adapter and the converter at the same time.

Please try again later.My understanding (this worked for me): You can use the converter (voltage 220 to 110) plus adapter (round prongs to US rectangular prongs) for only a little while. That's for hair dryers and other high wattage stuff. You can use just the adapter (Europe round prongs to US rectangular prongs) for a long time. Check your USB charger. If it says 110/220 volts, then it's dual voltage and you don't need the converter (big heavy cube). You just need the right adapter (small plug) and that worked for our phone charger, laptop battery, etc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I ran my converter over night and charged my iPhone and my camera without any problems. I can’t figure out why my manual had the same instructions. But it did not overheat or damage my gear. Hope this helps.
