A:AnswerActual width of this TV stand shelf is 41 1/4" My 50" TV max distance between end of legs is 40". So it fits close. To make sure TV doesn't drop to the end of the stand I glued to the TV legs small pieces of double sided adhesive tape

A:AnswerIt is raised by the table being off the ground . But will not replace the sand for your tv. It will simply need to be placed ontop of it with the tv stand that cant with the tv
