You could put a bigger TV on the stand than recommended, however if the length of the screen goes out further that the length of the TV stand, it could be possible to walk by and brush against the side of the TV and knock it over since it would extend beyond the side of the stand.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can. We have a 77" TV on ours. I think the reason is that the TV hangs over each side a couple of inches, but that doesn't bother me.
