• Yes, the cabinet will remain sturdy. The glass shelves provide no structural support to the cabinet. The cabinet frame is held open by four screws and a center metal bracing bar. Just note that the glass shelves are rated support no more than 35 lbs being placed on top of them.

• If you mean you want to remove the shelf in the center opening—yes, it will stay structurally sound. The center shelf has no weight bearing function. It is easily removable.
