Yes you can.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can remove the joycons, but they are what keeps the switch in place in the grip. The switch screen will essentially fall out of the grip without the joycons in place.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. You basically click the screen, with joycons attached, into the unit and it all becomes one unit. To remove the joycons you'd have to remove the whole switch from being clicked into this grip.
