“I run hdmi arc from my soundbar to my tv with all my devices running through the soundbar. My tv has an optical out. Can I just hook the transmitter up to the optical out on my tv or will i still need an optical running from my tv to my soundbar too?”

Hey SS, at any given time, you should have only one main audio output connected to one main amplifier (soundbar, receiver, etc.) You also have to decide what device (TV, Soundbar or receiver) you want to use as your main hub. Usually, the ARC HDMI is used when you are using your TV as your main hub.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.These speakers can be utilized without the soundbar. Either with the digital cable or the auxillary cable. I could not get it to work with the optical alone. Ask your local Best Buy expert.
