A:AnswerI just set-up that same combination - the Universal Rear Speaker to my Polk Sound bar. It does work but is touchy. Setting up the sound is challenging.
The Universal Rear Speaker command module has an Optical input and output, so you connect the TV Optical output to the Universal Rear Speaker command module Optical input and then run an Optical cable from the Universal Rear Speaker command module Optical output to the Polk sound bar Optical input. Both Optical cables are included in the Universal Rear Speaker kit.
In this configuration, you will control all the volumes from the Universal Rear Speaker remote control.
A:AnswerThe manufacturers claim the speakers will pair with almost any soundbar. I have a Yamaha and was able to get it and the Insignia speakers working seamlessly together, with excellent sound quality.
