You can. There are both Windows and Max drivers. The manufacturer is Asix Electronics. First you need to find out what model it is (not the Insignia model). Click on the Apple icon/About this Mac/System Profiler, then scroll down to USB devices (it must be plugged in first). You will find the model number and the manufacturer there. Then go to the Asix Electronics website and find it or google “Asix driver [model number]” or something like that. I don’t remember the model number off the top of my head. This is how I made it work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have to go through hoops to get the answer. I had two people hang up on me because they didn't know the flipping answer. I finally got a customer service agent named Pablo that helped me quickly and efficiently. You have to go to https://www.ASIX.com.tw and search for AX88772. There you will see the driver available. Once installed your computer will restart and bam. Ethernet working.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I used another computer and copied the disk files to a thumb drive. Then used the drive to install the drivers. None of this mattered in the end. OS X updates such as Mojave have ruined the usability of this adapter. You could buy a thunderbolt adapter from the apple store like they want you to. My suggestion: light your Mac on fire.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.you should not need a driver
