• The maximum file size is a function of the file system used on the flash drive, not of the reader. The file system used on the flash drive is determined by the device (camera, cellphone, etc.) that the drive is used with. A FAT16 file system has a maximum file size of 2 GB. FAT32, 4 GB. NTFS, 16 terabytes. EXFAT, 16 exabytes. FAT32 is the most commonly used file system on cameras and phones today. If you have a 2 GB limit, you must be using it with a device that is quite old.
