Unless your running rtx you probably don't have thunderbolt running directly to your GPU..it'll run through igpu and then who know what msi put in your monitor to hault all your dreams ECT...best bet is to buy a active adapter . HDMI into laptop with female diplayport out. It'll have and extra power cord. Basically dp has a timing clock in the wire or ......anyways you need that , active adapter.
