• It is not backlighted. I am not sure whether it works with Mac system but it works well with win 10

• The keys are not back lit. Had 2 months now and all my letters are still there... Not sure on the iMac.

• The keys are not backlit. It is a simple chiclet style keyboard, a lot like a laptop keyboard, but with a numerical keypad. I cannot attest to the letters rubbing off, as I have only had the keyboard for a short time. The keyboard is a standard USB powered unit. As long as the iMac can find the driver for it on-line, you should be okay.
