Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Rewind tape, start play again. When tape runs out (fairly quickly) machine powers off. Turn power back on, (no need to add more cleaning solution) rewind again until machine stops and/or powers down. Turn power on, rewind for next time and then eject head cleansing tape. Try using your VCR by playing a tape that's been kept in it's cover, clean and well preserved. VCRs have a safety shut off when a VHS tape gets stuck. The head cleaning tape runs at slightly different pace due to it's being made of different material.. also, dust and debris can build up on metal parts inside your VCR and magnetic particles from old tapes cause tape to drag, jump, not play smooth. All of which can set off the safety mechanism. These days most VCRS are so old, I'd say that's to be expected. You can repeat the power up, play & rewind steps a few times like I did, until I got the results I needed. Just remember, one application of cleaning solution will do, and it should only take 1 or 2 times of playing & rewinding the cleaning tape. If your VCR isn't working right after say 5 cleanings in a row.. (which is abrasive to the head but sometimes necessary) then it's time to take it in for a well deserved cleaning & servicing. Most TV & camera repair places can help you out.
