QuestionWhere do I put the drops in the VCR cassette cleaner?

- Answer There is a small hole on the top of the VCR cassette. Take the solution and squeeze 3-4 drops into the hole and insert the cassette into the player then press play. It is now clean but for old or dusty ones clean then 2-3 times ok! Now try a movie that you don't care too much about to test the VCR. If it works that is great! but if it still giving you a problem then clean the player some more until it plays the movies like a DVD. I hope this help.

- Answer First a wet section of the "cloth tape" goes along the same path the magnetic tape takes. The liquid on the tape loosens and dissolves the built up residue. Then a dry part of the "cloth tape" follows it picking up the loosened residue and drying the tape path. Wait a few minutes to let it "air dry" and remove any remaining liquid before inserting a video cassette. After all you've just applied a solvent for what the video tape is made of to the tape path. Just imagine what damage getting it on your video tape could cause.

Questioni have tried repeatedly to use this Insignia VCR head cleaner and the tape keeps coming back out of the vcr. How can I get this head cleaner to stay in the vcr and work?

- Answer As a side note (almost) never rewind and reuse a cleaning cassette. Most of them are designed to make a limited number of single passes along the tape path. If you rewind and reuse them your most likely redepositing back on to the heads (tape path) residue that you had previously cleaned off. When the you reach the end of the cleaning tape replace the cleaning cassette.

- Answer Based on my use of many brands of cleaning cassettes over the years I would say most likely yes. Every decent vhs cleaning cassette I've ever seen cleans both the record and playback heads (audio and video).

- Answer Amazon or Ebay! Since VCR's became extinct VHS tapes also became extinct! I'm replacing a lot of my VHS Movies with DVD's! Try stores that sell Nostalgia products! I can also suggest you look at Maxell, Scotch, or Sony websites and see what they have. Maxell was the top of the line when it came to VCR blank tapes!

- Answer I can not answer this question! I used this Head Cleaner on my Sanyo, my Daewoo which is made by Sanyo , and my Toshiba and it worked on all 3 of my VCR's! Panasonic at one time carried their own Head Cleaners for their VCR's which also worked on mine! One thing about Best Buy you purchase this product and it doesn't work, Best Buy will let you return it! Allsop made the best VCR Head Cleaners on the Market, unfortunately they are no longer available. Allsop's Head Cleaner was a combo of felt and tape and was not abrasive at all to VCR Heads! Thre is a company that makes something similar to what Allsop had, but not worth the asking price of $25.00 because of the bad reviews of this Head Cleaner not working in most USA type VCR's! Allsop's was between the $12 to $15.00 range. I wih I had bought more before DVD became the rage, which now is not all that great either, you scratch the disc and it is good for nothing!

- Answer Sounds like the heads on the vcr definitely need to be cleaned. But also one of the heads could be permanently damaged from age and wear and tear. Does not hurt to use a head cleaner. Least expensive way to start solving the problem.

QuestionWhen I played a video tape I got no sound. I removed the tape and the next time I tried it the sound worked. Then when I tried playing another tape and the same one again I got no sound, Also the tape seemed to run at a faster then normal speed.

- Answer Sorry, it will not. Betamax tapes are considerably smaller. I do have an old Betamax cleaner that is probably not trustworthy anymore. Maybe you can find one. It is a "Bib brand, Model VE-41 BETA". It was made in England. "Just Google "Beta VCR head cleaning tape". Maybe get lucky? T'care, M.R.
