As a side note (almost) never rewind and reuse a cleaning cassette. Most of them are designed to make a limited number of single passes along the tape path. If you rewind and reuse them your most likely redepositing back on to the heads (tape path) residue that you had previously cleaned off. When the you reach the end of the cleaning tape replace the cleaning cassette.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Some vhs units automatically reject wet head cleaning cassettes. Some do it if the cleaning tape is too wet. Try using less cleaning solution. It doesn't take a lot. If that doesn't work try switching to a dry type cleaning cassette. Usually if the manufacturer wants you to use dry type cleaning cassettes only (automatic rejection) it will say something in the owners manual.

I did put the head cleaner back in the machine and got the same results (tape comes back out and machine cuts off). i will get re-inbursed and try to get another type of head cleaner (hopefully one by Scotch - which i've heard is the best of this type). thanks for your response in an effort to take care of the problem. It also could be a shipment of defected tape cleaners.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Not sure why, but the drops have to be enough to have the white tape be moist enough to clean the heads. (2-3 drops wasn't enough. I doubled it.) It doesn't run very long - 20-30 seconds and manually stop it. Then rewind it. Be sure to give the VCR a rest so any liquid will evaporate before you play a tape. Good luck.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Not sure if I can help. I have had VHS head cleaners before that may have done this or caused the VCR to power off once inserted. Perhaps try looking at the head cleaner open the flap using the little square button on right of cartridge. Don't force open but use button. Ensure that the cleaning tape is flat and reeled tightly. You may be able to turn and tighten the cleaning tape a bit and re-insert. Otherwise gently try and reinsert the cartridge. Try to rewind. See if these steps help.
