    • Answer Sorry, wish i knew. No where on bottle or packaging does it tell you. Thought that was law ,but oh well, i have trusted it on my old vhs tapes of nearly 30 yrs. keeps my old Magnavox dubbing unit working very well. Have heard bad things about using certain brands but this is the only one i have ever used and no problems with being too abrasive.

    • Answer Often tapes getting "eatin" can be because the tape is sticking in transit due to a dirty tape path. In this situation cleaning the tape path could help. However it is most likely a problem that will need professional repair. The good news is it used to be a common practice for professional repair people to include a professional full tape path cleaning with any repair. Since they had the unit open.

    • Answer if you just want to clean the tape deck head, use a cotton swab and some rubbing alcohol.. be sure to let it dry good before putting a tape in!
