I would imagine so. I've got mine plugged into a GFCI outlet and it works fine. I am able to turn the plug off and on. I would say though that it will need to be protected from the elements if used on an outdoor plug or GFCI plug. The typical outdoor GFCI plug cover is not sufficient enough. I'm not sure how to resolve this unless you run an extension cord from inside the house or garage.

The device is unsupported by other companys and BestBuy/Insignia themselves don't support the default app. Even if it did work, the answer would still be no because this is an indoor product and would get weathered pretty quickly outside.

Dont expect it to work with home automation like Alexa, Google or IFTT because you will be disappointed. It wont be discovered by the devices :-/ Hope this helps.
