QuestionWill this plug work outdoors for controlling holiday lights?

- Answer I would imagine so. I've got mine plugged into a GFCI outlet and it works fine. I am able to turn the plug off and on. I would say though that it will need to be protected from the elements if used on an outdoor plug or GFCI plug. The typical outdoor GFCI plug cover is not sufficient enough. I'm not sure how to resolve this unless you run an extension cord from inside the house or garage.

QuestionAll (3) of my devices (all the Insignia WiFi Smart Plug w/ Power Meter) disappeared on my app. Using an iphone. Out of state now, cannot reconnect. Is there a way to restore them without actually being in front of the devices?

- Answer Yes I have the same problem. Logging off and logging back into app *might* restore the devices. Else we have to wait for an app update. (Yes: horrible quality!)

QuestionI have 2 insignia smart plugs ( Ns-sp1xm8, ns-sp1x7 ) well I guess you may know what the question is.... what app do i use to connect this NOW???? these have been in storage and now that we are all moved in I cant connect, NO MORE app!?! please help

Questionone of my switches turns on every morning at 6am. There is no schedule setup at all....have 5 of these and just the one does this...can’t figure out where a timer is setup (NOT in the insignia app, nor the IOS Home app...only using HomeKit). Any ideas?

QuestionCan you use this to shut down the wiifii for the house at night, and turn it on in the morning?

- Answer If you have your wifi plugged into this outlet it will let you shut it down but not turn it back on since your wifi is off and that's what is needed to relay your message to turn that outlet back on.

- Answer Yes, it does. The device itself is a pain to setup. I would recommend buying a different brand.

- Answer Yes, but it will only control power to device, not turning TV on or off. If the device is off your TV remote will not work.

QuestionHas Insignia updated their app to allow the iPhone version 11.1.2? I bought this on Black Friday and it would not work, per customer service (they were aware of the issue).

- Answer I just had mine setup with IOS 11.2 (not 11.1.2 but even later update) and it worked fine.
