I turned the computer off before I unplugged the keyboard and mouse that I originally had connected with wires - then I put the little connection thing sent with the keyboard and mouse in the front slot in my hard drive and then put the batteries (be sure to put those in correctly in both the mouse and keyboard) and turn on the little switch to the mouse which is on the bottom of the mouse. Now turn it all on and it worked fine for me!
