• A:Answer No and no again... It is not a microwave oven. It uses heat to cook. Heat will make the cup hot and melt the plastic.

• A:Answer I would say yes to both questions. Water boils at 212°F. Although Pyrex glass might be able to withstand the heat. I would only try to boil water in a metal cake pan or other metal pan.
