  • QuestionThat title makes it sound like the base is 4.4GHz and turbos up to 6GHz. That is false. You’re showing the turbo E-Core frequency as the base. The true base P Core is 3.2GHz. The one who writes your descriptions needs to understand P cores vs E cores.

    Asked by DeceptiveProductTitle.

    • Answer Greetings from the Intel team. Thank you for your question. The Intel® Core™ i9 processor 14900K has a total of twenty-four cores, eight Performance cores (P-cores), which have a Base Frequency of 3.2 GHz up to a Max Turbo Frequency of 5.6 GHz, and sixteen Efficient-cores (E-cores), which have a Base Frequency of 2.4 GHz up to a Max Turbo Frequency of 4.4 GHz. Intel® Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 Frequency: 5.8 GHz. Intel® Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 identifies the best-performing core(s) on a processor and provides increased performance on those cores through increasing frequency as needed by taking advantage of the power and thermal headroom. Intel® Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 frequency is the clock frequency of the CPU when running in this mode. Intel® Thermal Velocity Boost Frequency: 6 GHz. Intel® Thermal Velocity Boost (Intel® TVB) is a feature that opportunistically and automatically increases clock frequency above single-core and multi-core Intel® Turbo Boost Technology frequencies based on how much the processor is operating below its maximum temperature and whether turbo power budget is available. The frequency gain and duration depend on the workload, processor capabilities, and cooling solution. CPUs do not always need to run at their maximum frequency. • QuestionWhat GPU would be good to go with this? I saw the 4090 was bought with this, and heard the 3090 was great, should I get a 4080 super to mix letting my wallet live for once, and get wonderful performance? I don't want to have a big bottleneck so yeah......

    Asked by Ryan.

    • Answer I personally went 4090 oc to have the best system possible. But a 4080 can pull its weight as well. I dont think you would have any issues with bottle necks going 4080

  • QuestionWhat programs come pre installed?

    Asked by Oldman.

    • Answer Greetings from the Intel team. Thank you for your question. No programs come pre-installed as the Intel® Core™ i9-14900K is only the processor (CPU) and not a whole PC system. • QuestionCan Geek squad install this onto a motherboard for me?

    Asked by Irishwhiski.

    • Answer Yes they can. Did you build your computer yourself or was it purchased already built. I would save the money and install the CPU myself. Make sure the motherboard your using can use the CPU. The installation of the CPU is pretty straight forward. Search it up on Youtube I am sure you find your answer there.

  • QuestionCan this processor's integrated graphics be disabled, such as in BIOS, so that I can run an independent Nvidia RTX 5090 GPU? Does this processor offer integrated audio?

    Asked by OzMan.

    • Answer You can disable integrated graphics but I’d advise against it because it’s a handy back up feature that your CPU provides in case your gpu decides to not work anymore. Also your mobo will handle that audio feature.

  • QuestionDoes this processor come with a CPU cooler or does it need to be bought separately?

    Asked by rive7425.

    • Answer Bought separately.

  • QuestionThis processor idles at over 50c, even with the ROG Ryujin 360 I can't get the temperature down to acceptable levels. IF I run a program heavy I can hit over 90c. My previous processor would idle at 30c. Any Hope to fix?

    Asked by Dudleydogg.

    • Answer You have to manually undervolt the processor to be able to stay cool. I currently own an i7-14700k and that processor can run hot but even in games with a -1.130 core voltage offset the processor maxes out at 80°. It’s a small hassle learning what the processor can handle in terms of undervolting but it helps in the long run

  • QuestionIs it possible to overclock this processor to improve performance and will there be a significant performance gain from this?

    Asked by SamuelS.

    • Answer Not worth it, in fact it would be wise to under-volt your CPU. Many find a major power save for sometimes performance gains.

  • QuestionIs it possible to purchase this processor with thermal paste already applied?

    Asked by BillyM.

    • Answer No. But you can buy CPU coolers that have it pre applied

      Answered by Adamtrix

  • QuestionIs it compatible with any motherboard ?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Only LGA 1700 boards

  • QuestionThe official specification sheet says i9 to have a base clock of 3.2 Ghz, why is this variant 4.4Ghz?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Greetings from the Intel team. Thank you for your question. Intel® Core™ desktop processors integrate two types of cores into a single die: powerful performance cores (P-cores) and flexible Efficient cores (E-cores). The Intel® Core™ i9 processor 14900K has eight performance cores with a base frequency of 3.2 GHz up to a max turbo frequency of 5.6 GHz, and sixteen efficient cores with a base frequency of 2.4 GHz up to a max turbo frequency of 4.4 GHz.
