No. The transmitter has 2 different HDMI inputs. I only use one. Both the transmitter and the receiver are showing the same show. When you pick the other input, it outputs that input on both ends at the same time.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Not really - In my case I have the cable hooked up the the TV and the transmitter to a cable box and another TV. You can either switch to HDMI and watch the same program as the other TV or go to cable and watch another channel. You cannot watch two different channels on the two TV's. You can watch the cable box on one TV and a DVD on the remote set or the cable box on one TV and straight cable on the other (assuming you are using another input). I hope that helps you.
