How long does the battery last in the charger? null

I purchased mine 2 weeks ago. My son took it on a road trip, so i only had it for two days. There is a battery in it so that if your 12V outlet shuts off with the key, the unit will still release your phone. Mine did NOT charge the phone when unplugged, just ran the servo motor to grab and release the phone a couple times.

There is no battery in the charger
