Hi Alexa, your phone will be connected to Amazon Alexa, which you can use the alexa app or the iOttie Connect app. Both will work. Which means that you can disconnect Alexa but it be active whenever it is connected. Your phone's mobile signal will be connected, so you will not need Wifi, but you will need some sort of internet connection. By the way, the Easy One Touch Wireless 2 DOES NOT support alexa.
